The box picks up and processes the signal from the distributor in a different way than the technology used in stock ignition boxes. The REV-N-NATOR has intelligence to modify the incoming signal to the box and manipulate it to get the best performance, which is how the performance increases can be achieved. However, this may require an adjustment to the engine’s timing in some cases due to differences in how strong of a signal it has.
